Monica Rojas

Monica Rojas is a bilingual queer Latina, who engages communities through magical realism, joy, and play with her work as an author and artist. Monica's work is inspired by her experiences as a girl growing up bilingual in St. Paul, MN and as a woman raising a niece and nephew. Her first picture book, Nana and Abuela (MN Historical Press 2023) tells the universal story of being misunderstood through a multicultural lens. She received a Mirrors and Windows Fellowship, a Tofte Lake Center Residency and has created many interactive art installations. She lives with her wife, niece, and nephew in Minneapolis, MN.
