You can Meet the Finalists of the 2026 Minnesota Book Awards on Saturday, March 21 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the George Latimer Central Library. The Minnesota Humanities Center is pleased to announce the launch of the Minnesota Youth Poet Laureate program, a new statewide initiative recognizing and uplifting exceptional young poets ages 13–19. 

Applications are open from February 1–28, 2026. Submit original poetry and a creative résumé through the national application platform at youthlaureate.org. The Minnesota Youth Poet Laureate will be announced in late April 2026.
