Collective members are new stewards of the land the Wahpekute People of the Dakota Nation still call home. The Wahpekute have been occupants of this land for thousands of years. Members who do not share this background acknowledge the painful history of unfair and unfulfilled treaties and years of genocide. It is our responsibility to the Wahpekute and the entire Dakota Nation to platform their stories and storytellers, and to work toward an equitable future.
